02About this site
Asteria is a preview of a planned registry of named asteroids. At launch, each registry entry is intended to be represented by a unique on-chain token and a digital certificate showing the entry’s registry name, data and any dedication.
Asteria tokens are digital collectibles and registry entries. Nothing more is offered, implied or sold.
03No ownership of celestial bodies
Under Article II of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means.
Accordingly, an Asteria token does not confer ownership of, or any property right in, any asteroid or other celestial body, or any right to visit, use, mine or exploit it.
04Not an official name
Official names of minor planets are approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), through its Working Group Small Bodies Nomenclature (WGSBN). They cannot be bought.
Asteria names are registry names, used within the Asteria registry, its certificates and its tokens. They are not recognised by the IAU, the Minor Planet Center or any scientific body, and they do not replace an asteroid’s official designation.
05Not an investment
Asteria tokens are collectibles. They are not securities, financial instruments or investment products, and they carry no right to profits, revenue, dividends or redemption.

06Preview data & planned features
The catalogue shown on this site is demonstration data. Entries are realistic and internally consistent, but are placeholders until the real inventory has been verified against public small-body databases.
The marketplace, wallet connection, choice of blockchain, prices, fees and the naming ceremony are planned and subject to change, audit and legal review. Nothing can be purchased on this site today.
